Abstract

This paper focuses on the general decay rates for total energy associated with the solution of the nonlinear viscoelastic wave equation

on a bounded domain  under the assumption on the relaxation function together with sub-critical initial energy. These refine and extend our recent results about viscoelastic wave equations.
